Blog response Instructions: When Richie punches Russell in the face, his mother wants to call the principal, however, Russell wants to keep quite about the whole incident. Russel's mom's response was, "I'm not doing nothing. If one adult did this to another, he be in jail. Why should it be different for kids?"
Blog Question: Should kids solve their own problems or should adults/parents get involved? Explain.
Post:
I think kids should be allowed to solve their own problems without any inteference by adults or parents, unless it becomes extremely very violence. Sometimes a small problem can lead into a big problem when the parents are getting involved, because many of them were not interested in helping to solve it, but they were more keen in punishing the other kid/s. Sometimes when you leave the matter alone, at the end it can be solved easily. Such as in page 46, Russell wanted his mom not to do anything because she will probably will cause more mess if she tells everyone including the principal. Besides the boy who hit him, was helping him after that. He thought it's okay because they were just kids.
But, I shall recommend that parents should be in contact with the other kid/s's parents first if the problem is extremely serious, as on how to solve it between them before they involved the principal.
However, Russell's mom's was right too, because as his mom, she was very concern about the incident so that this would not be happen again.

hey Christina I totally agree with your opinion. Just like you said, if adults take bullying easy and go like "kids will be kids" then it may cause kids to think that bullying is just a part of their life and everyday games that they play. They wouldn't know or feel that they hurt someone else's heart just for their fun. Adults should keep an eye on them and help them understand bullyin is a bad behavior
Well done. Your response referrers to the comment. R Cook
